acebook has announced 60 new apps for its Timeline sharing programmed.  Known as 'frictionless sharing', the new apps allow users to share music, photos, favorite destinations and profile preferences, within their new Timeline structure. Developers are expected to add many more apps as Facebook encourage people to spend more time online and thus generate more advertising revenue. "We think that thousands of applications will be built on this platform in the coming weeks and months," said Carl Jorgen, Facebook director of platform products, at the launch of the apps in San Francisco. |

Google and Craiglist are protesting by featuring pleas that the U.S. public contact members of Congress and urge them to vote against the Stop Online Piracy Act, (SOPA), and the Senate version called Protect IP. Craiglist's snarky note: "Corporate paymasters, KEEP THOSE CLAMMY HANDS OFF THE INTERNET!" SOPA is a bill that intends to allow corporations to censor the Internet and target rogue sites, according to cnet, these are; 'Web sites that happen to be located in a nation more hospitable to copyright infringement than the United States is.'
